Meet Portugal

Tips

Paid trip, the day before departure—don't forget

Required documents:
Identification (citizen ID card or passport) valid for the period required by each destination (we recommend that you make a copy of it and bring that along as well, “just in case”).
For minors, a signed authorization from the parent or legal guardian with a notarized signature.
An entry visa, if required by the destination (usually countries outside the European Union).

Recommended:
European Health Insurance Card. If you don’t have one yet, you can apply for it online through the Social Security website; this card grants you free access to the entire public hospital network in the Schengen Area.

Clothing and luggage:
Appropriate for the destination and time of year of your trip; sturdy shoes or sneakers for walking; comfortable clothing. Toiletries. As a general rule, groups are allowed one checked bag weighing up to 20 kg and one carry-on bag weighing up to 8 kg, both within the standard size limits. Liquids in carry-on bags are permitted in containers of up to 100 ml; anything over 100 ml must be packed in the checked bag. If possible, use a checked bag with a padlock or combination lock.

Medications:
We recommend that you bring any over-the-counter medications you regularly use, such as acetaminophen, Imodium, band-aids, etc.
Travelers with other medical conditions or special needs should come prepared accordingly. Therefore, it is absolutely essential to inform the adults accompanying the trip as well as the travel agency.

Meals:
We need to know about any food intolerances or dietary restrictions, especially when the programs include main meals. We must be informed of this at the time of registration, as this is the only way we can ensure that special meals are provided that are suitable for each participant.
Traveling is an adventure in discovery—including culinary discovery—so we always suggest that you try the traditional dishes of each country you visit. McDonald’s is the same as in Portugal…

Currency:
Within the Schengen Area, with rare exceptions, the euro (€) is the local currency or will be accepted. We recommend that you bring pocket money and regular or prepaid debit cards (such as Revolut, which does not charge currency exchange or service fees). For more information, please contact us.
